چکیده
A new engine block with optical access has been designed and manufactured capable of running up to 3000 r/min the same specification as unmodified engine. The window allowed full length liner over a width 25 mm investigate lubricant flow cavitation at contact point between rings cylinder-liner. In addition, it good into combustion chamber allow charged flow, spray visualisation measurements using different methods. New custom management system build in LabView for precise control design was great success producing high quality images formation development speeds ranging from 208 temperatures (30°C–70°C) high-speed camera. results under motorised operation confirmed that there no points during intake/exhaust strokes due low in-cylinder presure, while compression/expansion strokes, pressure, considerable cavities were observed, particular, compression stroke. Lubricant had effect promoting both their intensity covered ring area 50°C expected. Beyond that, although increases further temperature, its reduces possible collapse cavitating bubbles higher temperature. change speed 800 increased considerably by 52% 19% 1000 r/min. After showed very small increase (1.3% 2000 r/min) similar distribution across ring.

Cavitation induced starvation for piston-ring/liner tribological conjunction
The study investigates the mechanism of ring-liner lubrication in the vicinity of the top and bottom dead centres of an internal combustion engine. Predicting lubricant transient behaviour is critical when the inlet reversal leads to thin films and inherent metal-to-metal interaction. It was found that the cavitation, which is located at the trailing edge of the contact before reversal, briefly...
متن کاملPropagation of Uncertainty in Optimal Design of Multilevel Systems: Piston-Ring/Cylinder-Liner Case Study
This paper proposes an approach for optimal design of multilevel systems under uncertainty. The approach utilizes the stochastic extension of the analytical target cascading formulation. The reliability of satisfying the probabilistic constraints is computed by means of the most probable point method using the hybrid mean value algorithm. A linearization technique is employed for estimating the...
متن کاملAn Improved Lubrication Model between Piston Rings and Cylinder Liners with Consideration of Liner Dynamic Deformations
The friction pair of piston rings and cylinder liner is one of the most important friction couplings in an internal combustion engine. It influences engine efficiency and service life. Under the excitation of piston slaps, the dynamic deformation of cylinder liner is close to the surface roughness magnitudes, which can affect the friction and lubrication performance between the piston rings and...
متن کاملSimulation and Modeling of Friction Force and Oil Film Thickness in Piston Ring – Cylinder Liner Assembly of an I. C. Engine
The piston ring assembly is one of the key parts of internal combustion engine. Its performance decides engine power loss to over come friction force and determines the performance of the whole engine. As per the literature review it is reported 40 to 50 % of the total mechanical friction losses in piston ring cylinder wall interface. The present work mainly focused on study of basic tribologic...
